I am a Manager with The Senior Move Partnership trained specifically in all aspects of Senior Moves, having completed their vetting and training process. I have a wealth of experience that enables me to provide a full range of quality support services to older people who are downsizing their home in later life. Moving home for seniors can be incredibly overwhelming, for some they may have lived in a home for decades, accumulated many memories as well as possessions. Downsizing and or moving to Retirement Living can therefore be emotionally, mentally and physically draining.

Often family and friends want to help, but with busy lifestyles themselves, they are unable to offer the full support that is needed. Moving is clearly a major challenge to face, but for seniors who may also have health concerns it is daunting to deal with all aspects of downsizing, that is where an Independent Move Manager can help, taking the stress away, dealing with the many organisations involved with a move, enabling the client to still be control, but without having to cope with all of the calls and correspondence and decisions alone.

As a member of APDO (Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers) and a Manager and Partner of TSMP (The Senior Move Partnership) I am fully insured and follow the Code of Ethics for both organisations.

I am Enhanced DBS Checked and ICO Registered and have Full Public Liability Insurance.

All packages are tailor-made to the client’s requirements, I can take the stress away by helping in the following ways:

  • Initial Planning of a Move – Organising what needs to happen and when
  • Furniture Floor Planning – Using Software Tool -Providing a visual of what will fit in the new home and where, this is a very valuable tool
  • Engaging with Removal Companies to obtain quotes and seeing this through to move day
  • Helping organise Donation or Recycling of Furniture and possessions no longer required, via Charities & Community Furniture Projects
  • Arranging Auctioneer valuations
  • Organising Clearance for unwanted items, including out buildings, lofts etc
  • Practical Downsizing support, wardrobes, kitchens, garages, sheds etc, providing guidance on donating unwanted items or disposal of those things that can’t be re-used and always responsibly to protect the environment
  • Sourcing curtains, blinds, furniture etc for the new home
  • Finding local reputable tradesmen for any carpentry work etc required in the new home
  • Sorting telecommunications for the new home
  • Change of Address and Utility Notifications
  • Ensuring any medication is packed and readily available on move day
  • Organising the safe and secure disposal of old financial documents
  • Unpacking, preparing all essentials are in place immediately, assistance in setting up the new home, organising a food shop
  • Move Day Assistance – Advising Utilities of final metre readings, dropping off keys to agents, driving clients to the new address
